- Lo studio "The WHO BMI System Misclassifies Weight Status in Adults from the General Population in North Italy: A DXA-Based Assessment Study (18–98 Years)" ha indagato 1.351 adulti tra i 18 e i 98 anni dalla popolazione generale, scoprendo che il BMI in un caso su tre sbaglia, e anche di parecchio: tra quelli considerati con obesità il 34% è solo in sovrappeso, il 53% di chi sarebbe considerato in sovrappeso non lo è e di questi un quarto è affetto da obesità e tre quarti è normopeso; ben il 68% di chi viene considerato sottopeso è invece assolutamente normopeso.
- Questo studio sarà presentato dal Prof El Ghoch in occasione del 33° Congresso Europeo sull’Obesità (ECO 2026) che si terrà ad Istanbul in Turchia tra il 12 e 15 Maggio 2026. ed è stato preannunciato con un comunicato stampa da parte degli organizzatori (Early Press Release).
